Background
Cornell University
The AIDA project is basing its self-assessment toolkit on the the “Five Stages” (Acknowledge, Act, Consolidate, Institutionalise and Externalise) and the “Three Legs” (Organisation, Technology and Resources), derived from the Cornell University maturity model, originally designed to assess an Institution’s readiness for digital preservation. The AIDA project has adapted the Cornell model to apply to digital asset management.
See for example publications by Professor Anne R Kenney.
TRAC
The OCLC’s Trustworthy Repositories Audit and Certification (TRAC) document has influenced the content of the AIDA toolkit.
Drambora
DRAMBORA (Digital Repository Audit Method Based on Risk Assessment) is a toolkit intended to facilitate internal audit by providing repository administrators with a means to assess their capabilities, identify their weaknesses, and recognise their strengths. See their online toolkit.
TrustDR
TrustDR produced some very useful materials for managing IPR in digital learning materials. Their toolkits contain risk management elements which AIDA has found useful.
Digital Asset Assessment Tool
DAAT was the predecessor project to AIDA, which ran 2006-07.
